Winds and floods from Hurricane Katrina destroyed all the musical instruments at McDonogh 15 School for the Creative Arts in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Serving over 400 kindergarten through eighth grade students, this arts magnet school was devastated by the effects of the hurricane. In a joint venture with Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation, IFRM purchased six trumpets for the school's band. This grant, combined with the Opus' grant, re-established McDonogh''s music program.
